Zoom

Zoom is a video conferencing tool that provides both video conferencing and screen sharing capabilities. It is similar to Skype and Google Hangouts.

Quicktime

Quicktime can be used to record your computer screen, and is often used by instructors to record instructional videos for software.

Powerpoint for Lectures

The Online Learning Team maintains a guide about Powerpoint, which is available on Canvas via the iSchool Online Learning Support site. You can access the guide here.

The guide specifically addresses ways instructors can use Powerpoint for their lectures, and provides a tutorial on how to embed audio in Powerpoint slides.

Panopto

Panopto is a lecture capture tool that instructors can use to record and publish presentations online. It is able to capture audio, webcam video, PowerPoints, and desktop screens. It is a good tool to record narrated PowerPoints and computer tutorials.

Screencast-o-Matic

Screencast-o-matic is a screen capture software that can be used to create video from your screen (i.e. short lectures or course tours).

VoiceThread

VoiceThread is a collaborative, multimedia slide show that holds images, documents, and videos and allows people to navigate pages and leave comments. VoiceThread is typically used as a presentation tool.
