By default, when you turn on the sync client for OneDrive for Business it will only sync the folders in your OneDrive to your computer.

But you can also sync folders that other people have shared with you which gives you offline access to these files in addition to yours. The only requirement is that the folder was shared giving you the “Can edit” permission.

  • Browse to your OneDrive for Business:<your UW NetID>_uw_edu/Documents/Forms/All.aspx

  • Click on the “Shared with me” link.
  • Click on the folder you want to sync to your computer.
  • Click “Sync”.
  • Follow the prompts to complete the process.

This folder will show up here on your computer:

C:\Users\<your UW NetID>\SharePoint\<name of user that shared the folder with you>
